My name is Sara and I am a certified Elementary and Special Education teacher, grades 1-6. I have over 10 years' experience in the field of education and child care. Currently, I am working as a teaching assistant at a local alternative high school. I have tutored elementary-age students in the past and LOVED it! I have worked with all subjects and have kept up to date with all the current educational standards and trends.
Right now, my job is similar to tutoring. I work in a class of about 8 students all working on different subjects. It is my job to be knowledgeable in these subjects and be there to guide my students in their work. I enjoy my job very much, and am looking to begin tutoring as early as now and would be glad to continue during the summer and beyond!

I am currently enrolled in a literacy Master's program and should have my degree by October. I have experience in teaching reading and conducting reading assessments with students as well.

I am up to date on the newest educational standards--Common Core. Although unpopular, we teachers must comply with these standards and teach lessons utilizing them. I have attended various training sessions on Common Core standards and am very comfortable implementing them into my lessons.

My degree and true passion is teaching elementary students. I enjoy the younger age and am very familiar with elementary curriculum.
