Hi!! My name is Mia, and I am an eighteen year old freshman at Marist University with a major in Psychology - Childhood Education, also in the Students with Disabilities program. My passion is working with kids, and for as long as I can remember, I have been immersed in the world of education. My mom is a franchisee of Kumon - a learning center - and that has been my environment all my life. I was her first enrolled student at three years old, and ever since, I have lived and breathed Kumon, both as a student/program completer and as a teacher for 4+ years.
Now, in my classes at Marist, I am diving deeper into understanding how kids learn best in different settings. This on top of my experience has taught me to be creative and patient while trying to find the best possible way of explaining something to a child so that they truly understand the concept and are not afraid to learn new things. I believe that a fun study session full of laughter and encouragement is the best environment for a child to feel comfortable learning. I can’t wait to meet your child and share my passion for education with them!!!
