Hi, I'm Andrea! I graduated cum laude from University of the Incarnate Word with my B.S. in Biology and received my M.S. in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am currently in my second year of my Physician Assistant Studies at Clarkson University.
I have previous experience in private tutoring from when I was in high school - undergrad and was a teaching assistant for microbiology during my time at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I also worked as a substitute teacher with North East ISD in San Antonio for 2-3 years while attending UTSA. In the time before entering PA school, I was an adjunct professor at the University of the Incarnate Word where I taught Intro to Microbiology labs along with Anatomy and Physiology I & II labs.
I am passionate about teaching and helping students understand the material so that they are confident in their future. While I am on the track to become a PA, I hope to continue as an adjunct professor in the future to continue working in education. I thoroughly enjoyed working with my students and seeing them thrive with new material. Learning should always be an enjoyable experience, even if it may be in a subject that is not considered a favorite. It is all about supporting and working with the students by understanding their study skills and preferences.
