I am applying to be approved as a tutor because of my strong educational background, teaching experience, and passion for helping others succeed.
I studied Biology in college and am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Multi-Media Production. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success, reflecting my academic dedication and leadership skills. My background equips me to tutor in Biology, Business subjects, computer applications, and multimedia production.
I have tutored peers in Biology, computers, and various software programs, often being the person others come to for answers. When I learn something, I make it a point to understand it inside and out, up and down, so it becomes deeply embedded in me. This allows me to explain concepts with clarity and confidence. My teaching methods focus on patience, encouragement, and adapting to each learner’s style, whether through step-by-step demonstrations, visual aids, or hands-on practice.
Since age 15, I have also taught swim lessons to individuals and groups ranging from 6 months old to people in their 70s. This experience taught me how to work with diverse learners, manage group dynamics, and tailor lessons to different ages and abilities. I have taught in both classroom-style settings and one-on-one, which strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning needs.
Additionally, I have volunteered my time to teach others in a variety of subjects I know well. I am proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and multimedia production, including podcast creation and video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
Overall, my academic achievement, leadership involvement, teaching experience, and technical expertise make me well-prepared to tutor effectively. My deep approach to learning ensures I can help students not only understand material but also internalize it for lasting confidence and success.
