I have been teaching at a college level for the past 22 years. Originally an electronic engineer by profession, I became involved in teaching Telecommunications at a local college. Since then, I became a full time faculty member at a career college where I have been teaching for 20 years in the field of Computer Networking and Information Technology and Mathematics. I come from a family of teachers. My mother was an elementary school teacher for her entire career and my older brother became a teacher while serving in the military. I have 2 children who have become teachers in public schools. I personally have a passion for teaching Information Technology courses. I utilize my engineering and professional background to supplement my presentations using a hands-on approach. Students learn best when they can have an interaction with the computer related equipment that they are trying to master. I like working with smaller groups or even one-on-one with students that need extra help. I am extremely patient with students who may be experiencing difficulty in learning. I prefer teaching in a regular classroom environment; however, I have also taught in the on-line arena. Either way, my students have always been very satisfied with their overall outcomes and experiences.

Writing

In order to be a teacher, you have to be able to express yourself via the written word. For my Master's degree, I earned an 'A' in Technical Writing which came naturally to me after being an engineer for 19 years which required me to write a lot of technical reports and procedures. I have also tutored several students in basic grammar and sentence structure.

Wonderful tutor

I am taking a CCNA class (networking). I came to Stan completely lost on the subject of Subnetting. Stan was very patient and explained things quite well. If I didn’t grasp something, he’d explain it another way. I took a test recently and did perfect on the subnetting section.

Marc, 3 lessons with Stan

Very Patient

Stan was great! He was patient with my 5th grader and walked her through each step of her math problems.

Cortney, 1 lesson with Stan

Understanding and helpful tutor

Stan is helping to teach me the things I’m struggling with. He also helps me understand different ways to find answers to problems. I would recommend him to others.

Tanya, 7 lessons with Stan

Excellent service!

Stan really sat down with me and helped me configure out some problems for an assignment using the Cisco packet Tracer. Stan helped me brainstorm and configure different routers, terminals, and PCs.

Bryan, 4 lessons with Stan

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

Stan was thoroughly knowledgeable on the subject matter and provided a great resource in guiding me through an unfamiliar assignment. I feel like I now have more knowledge than I did prior to having a tutoring lesson with Stan. I would like to learn more from Stan in the future, and would highly recommend him to anyone else also.

Taylor, 3 lessons with Stan

Helpful Tutor

He helped me understand and finish several problems I was having trouble understanding. His expertise really helped me out when I needed it. If anyone ever needed a tutor who knew VLSM and Wireshark as well he did, Stan is your man.

Michael, 1 lesson with Stan

Computer networking

Excellent and patient tutor. Would highly recommend him to anyone needing help. Very patient and knowledgeable. Takes the time to explain topics and makes sure that you understand.

Laura , 1 lesson with Stan

Excellent tutor!

He really helped me understand Trigonometry and easy ways to figure out a problem. He was very patient and made sure that you understood the material before moving on to the next topic.
