Hello! My name is Nick, and I am a resident physician in ophthalmology with a background in clinical medicine, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, pathology, and standardized exam preparation. I graduated from a top public medical school in New York, was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and scored 261 on USMLE Step 2 CK and 241 on USMLE Step 3. I earned honors in surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and neurology clinical rotations, and scored in the 80th percentile or higher on my shelf exams. Before medical school, I earned my undergraduate degree in Physiology with a Spanish minor.
I focus my tutoring on USMLE Step 2 CK, Step 3, and shelf-style clinical reasoning. During medical school, I frequently studied with and taught classmates by breaking down difficult clinical questions into diagnosis, next best step, management, and test-taking logic. I am excited to apply those same skills in a more formal one-on-one tutoring setting. My approach is practical and question-based: I help identify why questions are missed, separate content gaps from reasoning errors, and build a study plan around high-yield concepts and efficient use of resources. For Step 3, I can also specifically help with CCS strategy, including clinical prioritization, order selection, and time management.
I have prior experience teaching and mentoring students across different academic levels. As an undergraduate, I tutored students one-on-one in chemistry, physics, calculus, and statistics and was recognized as an “Exemplary Tutor”. I also taught weekly anatomy and health lessons to large groups of elementary and middle school-aged students, and later mentored pre-medical students in career preparation as a Life Science Peer Consultant. I offer a free introductory consultation to understand each student’s goals, timeline, resources, and current performance. My goal is for each student to leave each session with a clearer plan, stronger clinical reasoning, and greater confidence.
