I hold a master’s degree in Neuroscience from St. John’s University and a master’s in Effective Teaching, and I am currently completing the final coursework required for my New York State teaching certification. My academic background allows me to break down complex scientific ideas in a way that is clear, approachable, and rooted in how students actually learn. I bring both strong content knowledge and a deep understanding of cognitive and learning sciences to every session.
I have six years of experience teaching science in high-performing schools in New York City, working with students in grades 5–12 in a classroom, small-group, and one-on-one setting. My teaching approach focuses on building real understanding—helping students connect ideas, develop strong study habits, and gain confidence—rather than memorizing for a test. I have also designed curriculum for grades 5-12 and have supported students with a wide range of learning needs, learning styles, and backgrounds.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have worked as a curriculum writer and a coach for students who need support with executive functioning, study strategies, and organization. My goal as a tutor is to meet students where they are, help them feel capable and supported, and guide them toward independent success. I create a calm, encouraging learning environment and tailor each session to the student’s unique pace, strengths, and goals.
