I helped my peers in high school understand difficult concepts. This continued when I entered college. It is amazing to hear of students' success. It is even more amazing to experience it with a student that you are tutoring. As a tutor, I strive to ensure the success of all of my students. Everyone can and should succeed, as it is an amazing feeling...

It is even more amazing to experience it with a student that you are tutoring. As a tutor, I strive to ensure the success of all of my students. Everyone can and should succeed, as it is an amazing feeling that I hope to share with you.

I took three years of calculus in college. I have taken a Differential Equations class. I was a physics major, so the separation of variables is a standard technique to solve physics equations.

I graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.Sc. in Physics with honors. I have done well in my physics courses. I perform physics research as an external ATLAS member at CERN.

My coding experience comes from my research. I use ROOT software to simulate data collected at the ATLAS detector. ROOT uses C/C++ and Python as the primary languages to code in. In my spare time, I enjoy writing C/C++ and Python code.

I have completed several courses in C/C++, such as the 4-course specialization "Coding for Everyone, C and C++" offered by UC Santa Cruz. I routinely use C++ in developing ROOT code in C++ for the ATLAS data analysis group at CERN, for the past year. As part of my research, I am tasked with writing C++ scripts to perform Monte Carlo simulations in C++ to better understand the mass spectra that we are analyzing. Specifically, I perform signal injection tests and get efficiency values for the number of events I can reconstruct, based on the number of events I inject. Many pseudo-random experiments are required for these types of tests, so I have to be able to optimize the C++ code to perform many tests in the most efficient way. On the side, I publish solutions to programming projects in Savitch's Absolute C++ textbook. This textbook is used quite a lot in C++ courses, so being able to solve these problems makes me qualified to teach C++. Furthermore, nearly all of the students I have tutored under the designation "C" on this platform have actually been teaching them C++, as is seen in my reviews. It, therefore, makes sense to allow me to teach C++, since I would be able to help more students with what I specialize more in, namely C++, as opposed to C. I practice C++ every day and constantly seek to improve my C++ skills. It is my first programming language, which should speak volumes, considering that the other languages I teach, Python and C, are not my first, yet I have amassed a number of positive reviews in these subjects. So I think I have great potential to teach C++ if only I could get the chance...

This guy is GREAT!

Edward not only helped me with the assignment but he went above and beyond by going over the time limit and helping me after hours! He paces lessons very well, and when he teaches Python, because he follows an existing course, it is very organized. He makes concepts very easy to understand, and also gave useful information that extended from the course.
