Hey, prospective student! My name is Nicole and I am a current medical student, who graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College at Stony Brook University with a B.S. in Biology. I am extremely passionate about my academics, and I believe that learning to excel in classes and standardized tests is a crucial skill for any student. I am excited to work with you help you develop these skills!

I have five years of experience tutoring students for middle and high school math classes, as well as standardized exams including the SSAT, PSAT, SAT, and ACT. I graduated from Hunter College High School in NYC, so I am very familiar with the Hunter entrance exam and the SHSAT entrance exam for specialized high schools in NYC. My students have seen huge improvements, from in-class grades raising from a C+ to an A, to seeing 30+ points added to SAT scores. I personally have excelled in school and on the countless standardized tests I have had to take (1570 on the SAT, score of 5 in every AP test I took, 3.97 college GPA, 518 MCAT), and have developed tutoring strategies that I share with my students to help them excel as well.

I love working with students and seeing not only their grades increase, but also their confidence. I bring a lot of energy and positivity in my approach to tutoring, and believe that I can really help make studying and test-prep much less scary and overwhelming. Learning should be a fun and engaging process, and I always strive to bring fun, real-life example to help ease the stress on students. The skills I emphasize don't just teach to one test--they are applicable long after tutoring ends. Outside of my academics and tutoring, I am passionate about art, neuroscience research, and cooking.

the best tutor

Nicole has been helping my son with his Math and this is their 4th lesson with him. He is already able to explain his work after he is done with her. I had used several tutors before, some very helpful, but no one as knowledgeable as Nicole. Nicole also makes her sessions interactive, she pushes Jacob to explain his thinking, he is growing without being frustrated. As an educator myself I can say Nicole is the best I’ve seen!
