Hello, Students!
My name is Kayla, and I am excited to be your tutor!

Hello, Students!
My name is Kayla, and I am excited to be your tutor!
I began my teaching career eleven years ago as a substitute teacher, teaching students from preschool to 8th grade. Following that position, I was a first-grade teaching assistant, and lastly, I taught prek-3. In those eleven years of classroom experience, I co-ran the school's after-care program, where I was constantly working one-on-one with students who needed homework assistance or test prep assistance.
I have an associate's degree in early childhood education and certification to teach prek-k, and am in the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in educational studies with a concentration in early childhood. My expected graduation date is December 2024.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that a positive classroom (or virtual) environment is pivotal for effective learning and student development. Students in an environment characterized by respect, support, inclusivity, and encouragement are more likely to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. My goal is to foster their initiative, ignite their creativity, and boost their self-confidence.
