I decided instead to go to college and when I graduated began to pursue an officer commission where I again scored a 97 on a practice version of the exam in the recruitment office.
Calculus

Calculus

I have take n calculus I-IV, advanced calculus of a single variable, and advanced calculus of several variables. Calculus was integral in forming my love for mathematics as it begins to define the way the world works through mathematical expression. This is why mathematics as "the universal language," as it is relevant and consistent worldwide!

I have taken and excelled at every component of linear algebra. From matrices to determinant theory, I am thoroughly knowledgeable in the topic.
Logic

Logic

I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics combined with a minor in Actuarial Mathematics as well as a B.A. in Applied Mathematics for Business from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I was inducted and am a member of the national honor society for mathematics, Pi Mu Epsilon, and am a recipient of the S.M.A.R.T Grant for exhibiting excellence in all areas of mathematics. I have taken virtually every undergraduate Math course offered including passed above average. Also, I have taken courses in Abstract (Modern) Algebra and Statistical Probability 1 & 2 which utilizes logical sets to prove solutions in N space categorically and utilizes Probability theory to deduce statistical likelihood of random events (not)-occurring, respectively. I've also studied and utilized logic in courses such as Design of experiments in Hypothesis testing as well as Operations Research and Deterministic Models in carrying out optimization solutions to complex allocation of resource problems, for example. I also took college philosophy in which I received an A. Likewise, I've assisted other students regularly in all of these courses both on and off campus.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is where it all began for me. In 7th grade, it unlocked the door to what would become everything I know and love about Mathematics. Variables are introduced as well as systems of equations and 2-dimensional graphs. Really, this course provides the basics for all else to build upon and the concepts learned are the foundation that gave me confidence in my mathematical abilities.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus, much the same way as prealgebra is to algebra, is fundamental to understanding the concepts and provides the tools necessary to be successful in calculus. Here we begin to find roots of and graph polynomials, defining functions, and incorporating trigonometry by learning to convert between radians and degrees s well as graphing trigonometric functions. Also, students begin to learn about vectors and matrices. I excelled in this course both in 11th grade and my first year of college and prepared me for the complex and depth of concepts learned in calculus.
Probability

Probability

Throughout my degree program in Mathematics, I took several courses pertaining to and utilizing concepts of probability. In intro to statistics and probability you discover the different methodologies and tables used dependent on sample sizes beginning with the normal "bell" curve and determining likelihood of events occurring given arbitrary numbers. Also, permutations and combinations are introduced in later courses. T-tables, z-charts, testing null hypothesis, and finding 'p' values are among the many concepts learned in probability. I used these concepts consistently in intro to statistics and probability, Statistics I and II, research methodology courses, and design of experiments just to name a few.
Psychology

Psychology

I hold a B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and have tutored my peers in the subject. My UGPA in Psychology was 3.9. I am also a member of PSI-CHI: the National Honor Society for Psychology.
SAT Math

SAT Math

SAT Math encompassed everything I learned in mathematics from prealgebra to algebra II. It also incorporated Algebra and geometry considerably. I received a 1350 out of 1600 on my SAT's, however the scoring has since changed to include a writing portion for a total of 2400 points. Of my 1350, my math portion was 750 out of 800 points. This was a reflection of all my mathematical knowledge learned and retained in school up until that time and is an important factor for university acceptance.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I have taken and scored well on the SAT and GRE test, especially on the verbal components. I know how and have tutored students in reading comprehension, grammar, and punctuation at the high school and college levels for friends and family. I myself have completed all of those grades. Additionally, I hold B.S. in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte, as well as a B.A in Applied Mathematics for Business, a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Actuarial Mathematics. Moreover I have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts & Science (General Studies) of which I earned a 4.0 GPA. I have been tutoring students successfully throughout my academic and personal career as well. Lastly, I am employed as an exam rater by ETS (Education Training Service)- the organization who administers not only the STAAR test but the SAT, ACT, and GRE as well.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Iv'e taken Trigonometry (or Algebra II & III) in high school and utilized it's concepts throughout various higher level mathematics courses such as calculus and college level geometry. Concepts such as understanding angles, right triangles as they relate to the unit circle to determine sine, cosine, and tangent as well as their inverses are integral and unlimited in the applications involved in future mathematical concepts and courses. I am thoroughly knowledgeable in all areas of trigonometry and explaining relative material to students.
