I’m Anne, I am an Earth Science Master's Graduate from Dartmouth College with over 3 years of classroom teaching experience as a TA for introductory and upper-level Earth and Environmental Science undergraduate courses and experience with one-on-one and group setting tutoring. I graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor's degree in Earth and Environmental Science and a minor in Marine Science. In my academic career, I have consistently found that how material is taught makes the greatest impact on information retention and comprehension, and I have had a number of TA’s and professors who have gone above and beyond to make course material accessible and understandable.
In my role as a Teaching Assistant in graduate school, I worked weekly with students in one-on-one and group settings to provide student-driven tutoring and guidance, and help prepare students for the theoretical and practical applications of their coursework to best support them in the classroom and the field work sections of their courses. I worked as a tutor privately, beginning as a high school student for middle and high school biology and environmental science, which I continued into college, where I served as a private tutor and a learning assistant with Boston University for the Introduction to Earth Systems and Processes course. I have experience with high school-level tutoring and test preparation for AP Environmental Science and Biology through to upper-level undergraduate Earth and Environmental Science courses.
I aim to uplift the students I work with and provide them with the best tools to succeed. I actively learn from my students to discover what teaching methods work best for each student and provide the resources to best help them.
