My name is Spence. I graduated from law School with a concentration in litigation and a certificate in dispute resolution. I am a practicing attorney and mediator who always wanted to attempt teaching. My legal training allows me to provide a detail oriented approach. I also have the patience to work through topics a student may find particularly difficult. It matters to me that a student comprehends the relevant material. Clarity and repetition are essential for me when it comes to learning new material and I believe a similar approach will benefit my students. I am passionate about sharing my skills and experience in the humanities with students to aid them in excelling and reaching their goals. I hope to build skills that students can use throughout the course of their academic careers and beyond.
My undergraduate and legal training helped cultivate my writing, proofreading, and public speaking abilities. I can share what I have learned without you/your child having to be of college or law school age.
Admittedly my tutoring experience is limited, though I did teach a public speaking workshop to groups of teenagers for several years. I believe that my strong background in the humanities and having thought deeply about pedagogical methods makes up for my lack of direct tutoring experience. Once again, my goal is to help you excel and build lifelong skills.
