As a professional actor who lived and worked in Los Angeles for 10 years, I ate, slept, and breathed the craft of Acting and studied every aspect of it to make myself better. This includes the use and training of the voice, presence and the power of stillness onstage, ability to connect immediately with an audience, as well as understanding the arc of a story and how to craft information into a story. I used the skills I earned with blood, sweat, and tears, to not only help myself to book work in Film, Television, Voice-acting, Theater, and Commercials, but to also train others. I was very happy to learn that I really like teaching, and...I'm really good at it!
I have worked for the past seven years as a teacher for a small, specialized educational company which finds me getting up in front of groups ranging in size from 50-500 on a daily basis. When I am "Presenting", I am connecting with the group as a whole, leading them through information by way of telling them stories. I use my entire instrument: voice, body, face-- you name it, to bring the audience along the most interesting, engaging, and enjoyable route possible from point A to point B. Along the way, I make sure they learn (and retain) the necessary information, which I have threaded through the story.
Public speaking isn't just about speaking clearly and projecting; it's an art that has subtly and nuance like any other. If you want to learn how to do it, I can teach you.
