I'm a graduate student in English as a New Language (ENL) education with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Spanish with a concentration in Business from Wake Forest University. I love helping students build confidence, develop strong learning habits, and discover that learning can be both engaging and rewarding.
I have experience teaching and tutoring students from elementary school through college in both English and Spanish. I spent a year as an English Teaching Assistant for 3rd and 4th grade students in Madrid, Spain, supporting English language development and creating engaging lessons. During my undergraduate studies, I taught English to elementary students in Spain, tutored fourth graders virtually in reading and math, helped improve reading comprehension for state assessments, tutored Wake Forest students in Spanish, and worked with heritage Spanish speakers at a local elementary school to strengthen their language skills and confidence. Most recently, I spent a year as an Associate Teacher in a 3rd grade classroom at Riverdale Country School, supporting students across all subject areas and collaborating with the lead teacher to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Outside of the classroom, I've spent several summers as a sailing instructor and program director, teaching and mentoring children ages 5–17. This experience has strengthened my ability to motivate students, build meaningful relationships, and create a fun, supportive environment where children feel confident taking on new challenges.
I tailor every lesson to each student's individual needs and learning style. Whether we're working on Spanish, ELA, study skills, homework support, or English language development, my goal is to help students become confident, independent learners while making learning enjoyable.
I look forward to helping your student succeed!
