Hello, I have been playing piano for 19 years, and love teaching it to anyone willing to learn! I started playing piano at age four. Soon afterwards, I enrolled as a student in Hoff-Barthelson Music School taking lessons under Rie Matsumoto. I was at the music school throughout high school and gave recitals every few months, participating in the concerto competitions, the period festivals, the R.I.N.G. concerts that are held in local nursing homes, and other events.
I have won first prize in competitions including the Young Artist Competition of New Jersey and the Vivo International Music Competition. My high school career saw my piano skills rise steadily, and I measured myself by often attending prestigious piano competitions.
My time at Hoff-Barthelson music school gave me exposure to music theory and composition classes, which started my interest in composition too. I compose music and have won the MTNA New York Composition Competition and the Biola University High School Composition Competition.
After high school, I earned my degree in mathematics from the University of Chicago, graduating June 2025, but my passion is piano! I practiced nearly every day in the Logan center or dorm basements, and taught myself more pieces. In fact, now that I am back from college, my piano skills are sharper, faster, and more experienced than ever, and I am still improving.
