“Stats aren’t everything.”
I heard this a lot while applying to med school, and honestly, I wasn’t sure I believed it. With a 511 MCAT and below-average GPA for many schools, I expected my application to be overlooked.

But one year later, I’m starting at Weill Cornell Medical College, my dream school, on a full-tuition scholarship. I was also accepted to 15 other MD programs, received 19 interview invites (and declined one), and earned three full scholarships.

How? My story.

How? My story.

I’m first-generation/low-income. At 16, I started research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and competed in science competitions. I attended Amherst College on a full-ride scholarship. After my first year, I was accepted into a selective research internship at Stanford University. When I returned, I worked in a lab on campus and wrote a thesis that earned magna cum laude honors. The data from my thesis is included in a PNAS publication where I am a co-author.

I submitted my application early. Though my numbers weren’t perfect, I got interview invites from Mt. Sinai, Einstein, Cornell, Dartmouth, Rochester, and more. What made me stand out was my writing, explaining why I want to be a doctor in a real and personal way.

Since then, I have worked with 200+ students, including some with sub-500 MCAT scores, many of whom were accepted to med school through strong applications and interview prep.

I offer one-on-one sessions for personal statements, work and activities, live secondary edits (remote after live session), mock interviews (MMI, traditional, open, closed), resume and CV edits, and advising on strategy, timelines, and school lists.

The application is a big hurdle, but you don’t have to face it alone. If you want your application to stand out beyond the numbers, I’d love to help.

Your story is worth telling, and your application is worth the investment.
