Hey All! I'm Steven, but most of my students call me Professor Steve. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Engineering Management, as well as a Professional Engineer's License in Civil Engineering. My education and professional experience has given me a unique background in Math, Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Design, Problem Solving, Project Management, and everything in-between. Though, I'm always interested in exploring new topics and challenges!
Since January 2020, I have been serving as Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at my local Community College. In this position I teach courses in Statics, Strength of Materials, Surveying, Construction Materials, Structural Steel Design, Structural Concrete Design, Hydraulics/Fluid Mechanics, Soil Mechanics/Foundation Design, and Transportation Engineering. Outside of the classroom, I like to spend my time one-on-one tutoring students who may need some extra help.
My approach is to focus on breaking down complex concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations, while also encouraging students to think critically and develop problem-solving strategies themselves. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or tackling advanced topics, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where subjects feel approachable and manageable.
Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or the schedule a session!
