Hello! My name is Shimun and I recently completed my Masters' Degree in Human Nutrition at Columbia University. I graduated in 2022 with University Honors in Engineering at NYU and I am a 2018 alumni of the prestigious Stuyvesant High School in NYC. I have experience teaching college-aged students (18-22 years old), and students in middle school and high school (ages 12-22). My main goal is trying to break down the barriers students experience when learning "hard" subjects and show them just how intuitive they are to learn. I come prepared for sessions with practice problems that can identify what topics students understand or need more practice on. I want students to feel like independent thinkers and try not to immediately give the answers, but rather guide them in the right direction, as my ultimate goal is to have students feel confident in their own problem-solving abilities.
I scored in the 95th percentile on my SAT and the 98th percentile on my SHSAT. I have received A's in multiple Math subjects in high school and college.
