I have been playing the cello for about twelve years now, and am currently performing in the SUNY Oneonta/Hartwick College Chamber Orchestra.
Previously, I have taught private cello lessons. My students were fifth and sixth graders, and I helped them to prepare both solo and orchestra pieces for the music festivals and class they participated in, however, I have aided high school students in both solo and orchestral works. I have not tutored music theory yet, but I was successful in teaching my college roommates the basics of music theory in a short period of time utilizing the knowledge I have gained in the music theory classes I have taken. I firmly believe that consistent practicing of course material will help students learn it, and this applies to both music performance and music theory, so I will utilize repetition and memorization skills to help cement musical concepts.
