Hello! My name is Anthony Mangone, and I am a dedicated educator with over 12 years of experience in the New York City Public Schools. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Students of Other Languages (TESOL) from Touro University, as well as an undergraduate degree in Childhood Education with a minor in English Language Arts.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners, including multilingual students, struggling readers and writers, and students who benefit from structured academic support. I also bring a strong foundation in social-emotional learning through my ongoing professional education, which includes over 30 credits in addiction studies, allowing me to support students with empathy, patience, and an understanding of the whole child.
I specialize in academic writing, reading comprehension, English language development, study skills, and test preparation. I frequently support students with essay writing, research papers, APA formatting, and literacy development, helping them strengthen both confidence and competence.
My teaching approach is student-centered, structured, and supportive. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps, provide guided practice, and tailor instruction to each student’s learning style and needs. I believe students learn best in an environment where they feel respected, encouraged, and understood.
