My name is Michael L. I have been a certified math teacher for almost 20 years. I have taught students in both public and charter school settings for over 10 years. I have a strong knowledge of the Next Gen Math Standards for grades 6-8, Algebra 1, Geometry, and I also have knowledge of the topics for the math section of the SAT exam. In other words, I know what students need in order to be successful in mathematics and can help them succeed no matter what level they are on.
I also have many years of experience tutoring students in math topics ranging from elementary school level math to middle school, high school, and SAT test prep. I do whatever a family needs me to do to help their child feel more confident about their mathematics ability and raise their level of confidence and ability in mathematics.
I grew up in Port Washington, New York, went to college at Penn State for my undergraduate degree and Queens College for my Master’s degree in Mathematics Education. I currently live in Bayside, Queens and teach in the Bronx at a Charter High School. In my spare time I like to read, go to the movies, rollerblade, and travel as you can see from a recent picture I took when I went to Rome for the first time in February of 2024.
