Maria is a certified reading teacher, in addition, she has taken workshops at the Windward School with writing and writing workshop process. She connects students to the world of literacy through their own personal journey. Their interests become the engine that motivates their reading and writing skills. The several workshops that I have taken at the Windward School (which were largely Orton Gillingham training) has allowed me to grow and develop my skills in the area of dyslexia. I have had success with three severely dyslexic students.

Maria has been a great help to my middle school son. She has a gentle and encouraging manner. She is always well prepared for her tutoring sessions. Maria provides a written summary of what she's worked on with him and is willing to adjust her instruction to target his needs. It's been a positive experience.

Maria is a great tutor, my son likes her so much because she is very creative, devoted and has a lots of positive energy! She has been tutoring my son in English (reading, writing, grammar) since Nov and I can't say nothing but what a great visible improvement my son made in school !!!!!!!!! He raised his grades not only in English but other subjects as well which only confirms that Maria's work is excellent! She truly cares about her students.
