Hi I'm Sharon! I graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Studies. I was awarded "Most Outstanding Student" of the Human Ecology Department at graduation. I have a passion for travel, baking and fitness. During college I studied abroad in Cape Town, South Africa and volunteered with at-risk youth as a mathematics and English tutor. My senior year, I was also the first student to complete the required internship credits, in another country. I worked and lived in Dublin, Ireland at an after school youth center. I love teaching children of all ages and have experience from early childhood to teenagers. While working for an elementary school fundraising company for two years, I have found joy in motivating youth and creating spaces for creativity to flourish.
Boces summer enrichment teacher for children grades first through eighth.
I have two years of experience partnering with elementary schools to create much needed funds for their community. This involved daily classroom and whole school assemblies to motivate the students for the program and to educate them on daily character trait lessons.
One year of experience at Building Blocks pre-school. Support of early-intervention children and self contained classrooms.
I want to create unique and enriching experiences for each child and encourage you to reach out with any questions you may have!
