Hey there! My name is Ishan, I am a sophomore at the University of Toronto, and I'm excited to offer personalized tutoring services across a variety of subjects.
My school track record is a pretty one - maintaining As in classes while excelling in my AP exams and SAT tests. But such a stellar record would not be possible without the copious amounts of help I received alone the way. Notably, I received a lot of help from my parents and other tutors. And now that I've moved past that hurdle of grade school, I want to give back to help others get ahead in school.
I started looking into tutoring in my junior year of high school, when I started teaching physics and chemistry to middle schoolers in group settings. During my first year of college, I led a study group for my economics class, and on many occasions, I offered individualized help to my classmates when they were struggling with tough math problems. It was those math classmates who encouraged me to reach out to help more people - and now I'm here to help you!
My approach in each tutoring session revolves around the concepts or material that the student wants to tackle so that we can figure out what to work on. Session structure may deviate based on the student's needs, but generally I start with an overview and clarification of the material. From there, we will tackle some practice problems, either from the student's class work or my own problems, as I find that applying course material and solving problems really helps to facilitate learning.
I am able to offer tutoring on:

- calculus
- high school and AP level physics
- music theory
- SAT prep (any section),
- microeconomics and macroeconomics
