I reached out to Brian because I needed help with some real-world GIS problems involving soil sampling projects and interactions with survey teams. I had a specific project and list of questions and he let me drive the agenda, staying flexible and responsive if I needed more clarity or to change topics. He had quick, clear answers to my questions; and if he didn't know it off the top of his head, he took the time to make sure he both understood what I was asking, and that his answer was concise, accurate and helpful. Those are all really great qualities in a tutor.

Excellent and Efficient

Taking an economics class that relies on doing some R studio simulations. Brian is super proficient with R and has strong conceptual understandings of the material, so he can certainly take time when needed to answer specific questions. Efficiency also matters, I wish I had more time to learn R prior to this course, but working with Brian we are able to use the small amount of time to get work done on the areas I'd often get stuck. He also teaches with visuals, highlighting on your screen and so fourth, and that helps me understand what we're discussing, especially being novice to the language.

Amazing & patient teacher

Brian helped me code two boxplots and a violin chart in order to display my data of testing quality of governments effects on a country's susceptibility to economic crises. Not only did he assist me in the code, he explained the nuances and intricacies of R, while providing helpful tips for the future, and also allowing me to ask and answer questions. He did not do the work for me; he taught me the lesson in an extremely calm and patient manner, while also explaining the analysis of the charts we created, and asking me questions to see if I fully understood the interpretation.

Knows how to get where you need to go fast and with a lot less effort.

First off, Brian knows his stuff and he doesn't try to drag you out either for time or to over teach you. Also, I had no idea how fast he would get what I had to do. doing RStudio coding (Oh YUCK!) OMG, immediately He "GOT" what I needed help on. He also asked me to provide him stuff I needed ahead of time to NOT waste time. He also understood that I was in a time crunch, what I had to do wasn't easy, and I actually had a good time working with him. (I didn't feel so stupid-o) Brian is also Personable and Brilliant. If I had to do this all over again, (and thank GOD I don't) Brian would be the first person I called. I made my short window deadline. Thank you, Brian!

Easy to understand and patient

Brian helped me go through a database that was created on GoogleSlides. I am unfamiliar with googleslides and the database wasn’t set up as it should have been. Brian worked through the kinks with me and was able to show me the basics. I came with a goal and left feeling accomplished. I am sure I will have future questions as I go along and I will be scheduling with Brian again when the questions arise. I felt the rate was fair and fitting especially for the quickness of his thought process and being able to problem solve and explain within seconds! Thank you Brian
