GRE

GRE

High performance on any standardized test depends on knowledge (i.e., skills) and practice. Together we will 1) draft a study plan (i.e., making a timeline, reflecting on your mindset, recognizing strengths and weaknesses), 2) learn new skills, and 3) practice implementing them. I have used this process with many of my students and mentees. I have also used it on myself. For example, in the writing section of the GRE I received a score of 5.5, which is a 98th percentile score.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I’ve coached students and mentees through academic, clinical, and professional interviews for over 5 years. As a Clinical Psychology PhD student, I’ve also prepared for and conducted interviews as both a candidate and an interviewer. I help students reflect on their experiences, develop strong responses to common questions, and practice delivering answers with clarity and confidence. I’ll guide you through mock interviews, tailored feedback, and strategies to reduce anxiety and present your best self.

Reading

I first worked with children with reading problems in a research setting at NYU. In that role I evaluated student's reading abilities. I am now a 3rd year PhD student studying Clinical Psychology were I have continued to be exposed to children of all ages and different levels of reading ability. Research shows that instructional support for individuals with reading problems must include five primary strategies and practices. All of these practices are provided to children with The PRIDE Reading Program, an Orton-Gillingham curriculum for children of all ages. I have obtained the instruction kit and I have completed related training that is needed to 1) administer the PRIDE Placement Assessment to meet children at their level and 2) start teaching and sharing resources with students. Through this program I am able to use engaging, multisensory methods to teach reading, writing, spelling and comprehension.

knowledgeable and very encouraging

This my 7th week working with Angela. Her help with SPSS and knowledge of statistical APA rules has been invaluable. I know there are tutors with lower hourly rates. But Angela is worth the investment. I’m already paying for school, this is an added value to ensure I can succeed in school.

Knowledgeable and experienced tutor

Angela worked with me on a survey project. She supported me in many ways with all parts of the survey. Every time we met, she came extremely papered to explain the concepts we were working on. She created PowerPoints, shared other sources, and explained how to complete the section on the project. She helped me to understand how to write clear survey statements. She explained to me the different types of samplings in research and helped me understand how to analyze data. She asked me questions to check for my understanding, which was a great way for me to learn. Also, she always answered my questions with a great length of explanation. She is also a great writer and helped me with my writing. She provided me with feedback about my writing mistakes. I highly recommend Angela to any student. She will help you to understand what you are working on and complete your assignments.
