I am a graduate of Cornell University currently obtaining my MD at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. I graduated in the top 1% of my class at Cornell with a major in Chemistry and minors in Mathematics and Global Health and have scored in the 100th percentile on the SAT (1600), ACT, (36) and MCAT (527/528). As such, I have a very strong passion for all core math and science disciplines and love to share what I know with students from the elementary through collegiate levels!

During my 10 years of tutoring experience, I have taught many different kinds of students in various settings. I started as a young tutor at Kumon Math and Reading Center teaching mathematics of all levels arithmetic through calculus to students ages 5 to 18. Afterwards, I tutored math, chemistry, physics, and ACT prep on the online platform Varsity Tutors. In college, I was named a teaching assistant for physics courses in mechanics, electricity, and magnetism and was responsible for teaching group problem-solving sessions in a classroom setting. I have also taught college-level biology, biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, psychology, and sociology as an MCAT Tutor for MedSchoolCoach, a national leader in medical school admissions consulting. In all of my tutoring roles, I have emphasized understanding over memorization and aim to help build solid conceptual foundations. I work with students to develop organized tutoring plans and try to take their input very seriously – because nobody knows you better than you! My goal is not only to make each individual a more successful student, but also to help them find interest and joy in what they are learning. Please contact me to learn more about how to schedule a lesson. I hope to have the privilege of tutoring you!

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I first began teaching mathematics of all levels, including algebra, when I was hired as a mathematics instructor at my local Kumon Math and Reading Center when I was 12 years old. Since then, teaching and learning math have been unique passions of mine. I went on to tutor across multiple online tutoring platforms over the next decade and eventually graduated in the top 1% of my class from Cornell University with a minor in mathematics in 2021. I also tutored my younger brother in mathematics from 5h grade until his senior year of high school, which allowed me to stay in touch with all levels of math from its lowest to highest levels.
Algebra 2

Biostatistics

Biostatistics

I am a current medical student at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine with extensive experience in biostatistics and biomedical research. Having spent a dedicated year as a clinical researcher in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine Department of Orthopedic Surgery with 10+ peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals, I have considerable experience in statistical analysis using a variety of software, including SPSS, R, and Microsoft Excel. I have also completed collegiate coursework in probability and biostatistics at Cornell University where I received a BA in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. With 10+ years of experience tutoring mathematics and 5+ years of experience as a researcher, I have strong skills and understanding suitable to biostatistics tutoring.
Calculus

Calculus

I first began teaching mathematics of all levels, including calculus, when I was hired as a mathematics instructor at my local Kumon Math and Reading Center when I was 12 years old. Since then, teaching and learning calculus have been unique passions of mine. I went on to tutor across multiple online tutoring platforms over the next decade and eventually graduated in the top 1% of my class from Cornell University with a minor in mathematics in 2021, where I completed coursework in basic, multivariable, and differential calculus, along with a number of calculus-based chemistry and physics subjects. I also tutored my younger brother in mathematics from 5h grade until his senior year of high school, which allowed me to stay in touch with all levels of math from its lowest to highest levels.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I graduated in the top 1% of my class from Cornell University in 2021 with a BA in Chemistry (magna cum laude), where I completed extensive coursework in introductory, organic, advanced inorganic, physical, and laboratory chemistry as part of our challenging honors track. Since then, I have spent considerable time tutoring students from the high school to college level in all levels of chemistry from introductory to advanced levels, primarily on online platforms. I have also honed my chemistry tutoring skills as an MCAT Chemistry Tutor for the company MedSchoolCoach, a leader in medical school admissions consulting. As a tutor, I focus on conceptual foundations and guided problem-solving as I feel this allows students to ultimately learn and thrive on their own!
Debate

Debate

In high school, I was the 2017 Ohio State Champion in US Extemporaneous Speaking and went on to be an NSDA National Finalist where I placed 6th in the country out of a pool of over 250 competitors. I was also a national qualifier in Congressional Debate. In high school, I founded our district's middle school speech and debate program and coached 10-15 young students. After high school, I founded the Ohio Extemp Initiative, a summer public speaking program designed to help students unlock their next level. As part of this program, I helped coach 50+ students.
MCAT

MCAT

I am current medical student at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and received a 527 (out of 528) on the MCAT on my first attempt. My experience preparing for the MCAT myself ultimately led me to teach MCAT prep courses at MedSchoolCoach, a leader in medical school admissions consulting. In this role, I helped numerous students raise their scores over a 3-year period. My strategy for MCAT tutoring typically involves a dedicated period of independent content review (often using an MCAT prep book) supplemented with tutoring sessions for problem topics on a regular basis. Then, students move on to targeted review using practice questions first (if time permits) from third-party resources and then using the official AAMC materials. I help students create a study plan based on their time/resources and am there to help review content and provide test strategy tips every step of the way!
Physics

Physics

I graduated in the top 1% of my class from Cornell University in 2021 where I completed introductory and advanced coursework in physics and physical chemistry as a chemistry major. I also spent 2 semesters working as a teaching assistant for introductory courses in mechanics, electricity, and magnetism where I honed my skills in teaching physics. Since graduating from Cornell, I have tutored numerous students in physics across online tutoring platforms, including as an MCAT Physics Tutor for the company MedSchoolCoach, a leader in medical school admissions consulting. I focus on conceptual foundations and guided problem-solving as I think this philosophy is what equips students with the skills to eventually succeed in physics on their own!
Precalculus

Knowledgeable and excellent at explaining complex concepts

Vishal did an amazing job helping me with some challenging AP chemistry equilibrium problems. He's very knowledgeable, down to earth, and patient. Within an hour I had a much better understanding of problems that I couldn't understand for days.

Calculus II Help

Vishal and I discussed absolute convergence as well as the ratio/root tests. He was knowledgeable about both topics and helped me with some of my homework. Additionally, he walked me through some of the foundational topics and really clarified the topics for me. I definitely recommend him if you are struggling with calculus.
