I have a year of experience working as an English consultant at my university's English Language Center, where I helped international college students one-on-one with their English needs. My responsibilities as an English consultant included assisting students with brainstorming, proofreading, editing, reviewing/teaching vocabulary and grammar, creating presentations and more. I have also tutored relatives and friends. Tutoring, for me, is an opportunity to act as a resource for others and I find great joy in helping students gain a better understanding of the material they're working with. This clarity can provide them with a boost in motivation, enthusiasm, and improved results.
As a medical student, I have recently completed and passed my USMLE Step 1 and 2 exams (no extra attempts necessary). I also have experiencing tutoring other peers for Step 1 and have seen increases in their performance on NBME practice forms. One of my students recently passed Step 1. I am confident in my ability to highlight high-yield, testable material for Step 1 and guide students to success on this exam.
