I'm Anya, an MCAT and pre-med specialist, with additional experience tutoring students in psychology, statistics, math, and writing/application prep.

I scored a 519 on the MCAT, completed an undergraduate degree in biochemistry with honors, and got accepted to a top 20 med school. I’ve tutored for 8 years, helping students improve MCAT scores by 15+ points, find new strategies for learning in challenging classes, and learn evidence-based study strategies.

I graduated with a degree in biochemistry with honors, worked in cancer research for 2 years, and now am a doctoral student in Clinical psychology. I have over 7 years of experience tutoring students in all different settings with many different ability levels, helping them reach their academic and personal goals.

I began tutoring in high school, working with middle school and high school students who were having difficulty keeping up in their classes. In college, I continued to develop my teaching and tutoring skills. I worked as a tutor for the biochemistry department at my college. I also tutored and taught classes in a prison higher education program for 4 years.

I know how important it is as a tutor to figure out what kind of support the student will most benefit from in order to be truly helpful. My approach is to work with the student to figure out a plan that works for you, whether that be additional lecture and class-type activities, working through homework and practice questions, creating a study plan and holding you accountable, or anything else that may be of use.
