August has worked as a private voice teacher for six years, teaching students ranging from young children to adults, all of vastly different experience levels. Outside of private lesson settings, they have taught group music and musical theatre classes in both online and in-person formats for ages 3-18 for six years. Additionally, they have music directed several musicals, and recently made their Off-Broadway debut as Assistant Music Director on Tisch New Theatre's production of Alice by Heart.

Outside of teaching, August's performance abilities have reaped success at local and national levels, garnering awards at state competitions and even a performance at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall. They have over a decade of choral experience under their belt, as well as numerous college courses, intensives, and masterclasses with iconic artists such as Sierra Boggess and Taylor Iman Jones.

August passionately believes in the power of music as a mode of self-expression, and loves to help students find healthy ways they can use music to express themselves and tell stories that are meaningful to them. They look forward to helping students along their musical journeys for years to come.

General Music

General Music

My performance abilities have reaped immense success at both the local and national levels, garnering awards at state competitions and even a performance at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall. I have a decade of choral experience under my belt, as well as numerous college courses, intensives, and masterclasses on numerous musical subjects. As a multi-faceted performer, I am a firm believer in incorporating theatricality into all aspects of performance. I incorporate this into my music education work, teaching children to express themselves through music. I have served as a private voice teacher, choral section leader, group music teacher, music theory teacher, and student director and student teacher of a high school choir program.
Theater

Theater

I have since studied with the likes of Sierra Boggess and Taylor Iman Jones, spent my summers in intensives with professional theatre companies, and continuously pursued growth as an actor. I have won numerous awards at both the local and state level for my performances. I have served as the assistant director of a youth theatre company and as the president of an improvisational theatre club, so I have a great deal of experience in both casting and directing productions. Because of this, I can offer unique insight into the casting and production process, helping you prepare for your next big audition!
