Physics and Math Tutor; Physics Bs Student

Hi! My name is Julian! I have three years of experience tutoring in-person Physics and Math for Paper Co., Dutchess Community College and here on Wyzant on the following subjects: Calc 3, 2 & 1 (AB/BC), Pre-Calculus, Algebra 1, Pre-Algebra, Physics 1 & 2 (algebra and calculus based) Honors Chemistry. I have tutored students from 3rd grade to the graduate level. Tutoring is a way for me to not only help other people understand something they might be struggling with, but for myself to gain a better understanding of the subjects I tutor. Each person has a unique way of understanding every subject. My job is to learn how the student learns and adapt to their understanding and of course, make it is as engaging as possible.

Currently, I am in my final year at City College of New York in the Physics Bs program. Prior to that, I attended Dutchess Community College where I received the McCann Foundation Scholarship and made President's List two semesters finishing with a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, I have a Theatre BA from Loyola Marymount University. When it comes to tutoring, it's important for me and the student to find where the hole is in their understanding and start at the last thing they understood. From there, I will show them an example of how to solve, then we will solve a problem together and then I will ask the student to solve one on their own. From there, we can see where the student might still be stuck and move forward and or review the same topic from a different perspective!
