Hi, I'm Shanice, a recent graduate of Lehman College in Political Science ( Pi Sigma Alpha) and Philosophy. I understand that there can be a lot of pressure and anxiety, but I know how to help lay good knowledge foundations so that fear can recede and confidence can build. I specialize not just in teaching a subject but in helping my students discover and understand their strengths and how they can best utilize them.

English is as complex and challenging to master as it is rich and versatile. Reading comprehension and simple, straightforward, expressive language is foundational for all academic work. Reading and writing skills improve over time, a process that can be accelerated with guidance. I work with students to evaluate their natural strengths and then develop individualized strategies to help them build-up their written language proficiency, reading speed, and comprehension.

I consider myself to be a careful and empathetic listener. I strive to meet people on their terms, understand their situation and work with them to develop solutions that meet their needs.

I believe that motivation and organization are keys to academic success.

I graduated with a degree in Political Science with high honors. My area of concentration was legislative affairs. I have an excellent grasp of U.S. both the theory and practice of US governance and the political pressures that shaped our systems and institutions from experiencing politics from within the New York State Assembly and the United States Department of State.
