Having experienced many mixed emotions while in academia, I take it upon myself to be patient and understanding of my students' situations. I do not believe in "stupid questions". I also believe that being incorrect is essential to learning.

At State Street as a Quantitative Developer I created an application titled “DataManager” that generated and disseminated customized reports for hedge fund clients. I additionally created a library titled “XMLWorkbookGenerator” (https://github.com/BRutan/XMLWorkbookGenerator) to encapsulate the complicated OpenXML library to quickly generate Excel workbooks. At Guggenheim Partners I created C# ASP.net micro service APIs to feed data into PowerBI reports.

At State Street I maintained and improved the centralized exotic derivatives pricing application (titled “RAVEN”) written in C++. I completed Baruch College’s “C++ Programming for Financial Engineering” and “Advanced C++ with Applications” certificates. These courses included full coverage of the STL, Boost and standard library in C++ <= version 11 and provided project experience using rarely taught concepts such as multi-threading. I additionally completed “C++ for Finance” and “Advanced C++ for Finance” courses to fulfill the Fordham Master’s of Quantitative Finance degree, both with a grade of A, and overall GPA of 3.78.
