HI! I’m Henry, an SAT tutor based in New York City.

I am dedicated to helping students tackle the challenges of the SAT through a program that is always tailored to the student’s strengths and weaknesses.

My experience teaching SAT prep classes to students from a wide variety of backgrounds in New York City is where I have developed a passion for test prep. I have been teaching small-group SAT prep classes, both in person and virtually, with the Princeton Review for 6 months. I primarily work with 11th graders in my SAT work. Some of my recent teaching locations include Frank McCourt High School in Manhattan and the Metropolitan Expeditionary Learning School of Brooklyn.

I hold a high school diploma from Phillips Academy Andover, the #1 high school in the United States, and a bachelor’s degree in theatre from the University of Michigan, where I graduated with High Honors as a James B. Angell Scholar and a GPA of 3.85. I also earned minors in Computer Science and Musical Theatre Composition.

I scored a 1440 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT, as well as a 5 on the AP AB Calculus and Music Theory exams. I was fortunate to receive the Timothy G. Taylor Arts scholarship from my high school, well as the Tim Millett Musical Theatre Scholarship from the UM School of Music. My background in theatre gives me the skills to connect and empathize with all kinds of students, and to be flexible and adaptive to a student’s current-moment needs during tutoring sessions.

In addition to SAT prep, I tutor math up to Algebra 2, writing, Spanish, and music theory. I am fluent in Spanish and have a deep passion for the Spanish language. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Argentina, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Spain to develop my language skills.

I love equipping students with the tools they need to succeed. I always work from a place of compassion and enthusiasm, while also holding my students to the highest of standards. There is always room for improvement, no matter your score!
