Hello future tutee!

I'm a current MS4 at Zucker SOM in NY, but I first graduated in 2012 with a degree in Art History & Chemistry from NYU and then completed a second degree in Behavioral Neuroscience at Hunter College. Basically, I understand what it's like to be a student!

I studied Organic Chemistry at both NYU and Hunter College. While at Hunter, I was ranked #1 in my class of 600. I was then hired as a TA from 2019-2021 and officially added to the faculty roster in 2022, prior to my leaving for med school. When transitioning online during COVID, I composed digital lesson plans that comprehensively covered a concept, with room for reinforcement and practice. I still use these as templates for structuring tutoring sessions.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

My preferred tutoring method is to meet students weekly for 1-2 hrs, to either (a) build a foundation on a topic for 30-60 min, (b) practice a topic with questions they or I provide, or (c) review graded coursework to hone better strategies for the future. Please consider: If a topic feels overwhelming, it's best to review it prior to starting practice problems. Successful students seek to understand the basics before refining their understanding with practice.

I offer tutoring windows from 1-2 hrs, with more flexibility for regular students. (Please note that there is a cancellation fee, see below).

No doubt that organic chemistry can be difficult, and it often feels like a foreign language. Yet, I love taking such a complex subject and simplifying it so that anyone can grasp it. I would love to help you succeed!

Please reach out so we can find a way forward together, regardless of where you are in your organic chemistry curriculum.

Biology

Biology

Biology becomes much more manageable once you learn how to organize and connect the material. I have several years of experience tutoring high school & undergraduate biology, supporting students across introductory and systems-based courses. After earning degrees from NYU & Hunter College that span STEM to the Arts, along with extensive MCAT prep, I’m able to explain biological concepts from multiple perspectives & learning styles. My approach emphasizes patterns, mechanisms, and effective study strategies so students feel confident tackling exams and coursework.
Chemistry

Chemistry

A strong chemistry foundation makes even the toughest concepts feel more manageable. I earned a minor in Chemistry from NYU, taught Organic Chemistry at Hunter College, and scored a 515 on the MCAT, reflecting a solid command of core chemistry principles. In preparation for medical school, I revisited introductory chemistry coursework to reinforce fundamentals and refine problem-solving strategies. My teaching focuses on clarity, intuition, and helping students feel confident navigating concepts, calculations, and labwork.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

Believe it or not, organic chemistry can be fun—and it can definitely be manageable with the right approach. I studied organic chemistry at both NYU and Hunter College, where I ranked #1 in a class of over 600 students, and was subsequently hired as a Teaching Assistant for Organic Chemistry I & II from 2019–2021 before being added to the faculty roster in 2022. During the transition to online learning, I developed structured, visual digital lesson plans that break down mechanisms and reactions into intuitive patterns rather than memorization. These materials still serve as the backbone of my tutoring sessions today. My teaching emphasizes clarity, confidence-building, and practical strategies that help students succeed long after the session ends.

Excellent Organic Chemistry Tutor

Francesca was an amazing and patient tutor. She knows how to break down complex topics and simplify them. After each session I left with a clear understanding of the topics we went over. Francesca was a major contributor to my good grade I ended with in Orgo 1.
