Essay Writing
Strong writing skills are essential for academic, professional, and personal success. I work with students of all ages on crafting thesis statements, paragraph construction, plowing through writer's block, boarding school application essays, and college application essays (I have most recently worked with students on their NYU, Harvard, UC, Northwestern, and BU applications). Together, we can develop a foundational strategy for essay writing, and help you express your most authentic, clear voice.

Creative Writing
I have 5 years of experience working in project development for Film/TV and Theatre, and can work with you get your idea down on the page for the first time, or polish your script for competitions or production. I also work with students in overcoming writer's block, and together we will develop a personalized technique for engaging with inspiration, and finding flow and ease in the writing process.

WEB DESIGN
I specialize in working with beginner HTML & CSS students, and have over a year of experience tutoring introductory HTML & CSS at the collegiate level. I hold a minor in Web Applications and Programming from NYU, where I also worked as a teaching assistant for The Brendan Bradley Integrative Technology Lab, a first of its kind course that looks at innovation in art and technology. I also work regularly as a freelance web designer, and can work with you to customize your Squarespace/Wix sites. My approach as an artist allows me to make coding engaging and fun for all ages.

It wasn't long ago that I had to navigate the gap between receiving my degree and entering the professional arts world with very little guidance. I wish that I would have had someone at the time to help me strategize, prioritize, and show me how to actively seek out opportunity -- that's exactly what I do for my students. I have spent the past 2 years as a student mentor for the Nine Muses Lab at NYU, helping students craft narrative films and support them as begin post-graduate life. Though my focus is primarily on careers in the arts world (and those who would like to be more creative in their non-arts career), I am well equipped to help you think outside the box and create the career of your dreams.

Danica was everything I could've asked for and more

I have never had an essay tutor before so when I was searching for one I was a bit doubtful that I would find someone that could really help me. Danica had everything I was looking for in a tutor and when we started talking I soon found out how well we meshed. I had to write four different essays for my film supplemental which was incredibly terrifying for me. I was so lost on what I wanted to write about for all four essays but she managed to help me find ideas that were buried in my head. She found time to look over my essays and video call whenever I needed which I am super grateful for because it was so last minute. She also gave me the most amazing suggestions while reassuring me every time I was feeling anxious or unconfident in my writing. I felt like all of my essays reflected exactly what I wanted to say while hitting all of the marks that admissions were looking for. I have learned so much from her as a writer and as an aspiring filmmaker. Words can't describe how much she has helped me get through one of the most stressful and difficult things I have ever faced in my life. I couldn't have done it without her and I will definitely be reaching out again if I need help with another big essay.
