Hi! My name is Jessica. I am passionate about helping students learn and achieve their goals. In addition to helping students succeed, I also work hand-in-hand with both parents and faculty to foster unique and memorable ways of teaching.
My goal is to help your child or student become adept at their weakest skill and turn it into a strength. There are many ways of working with students and I find that individualized learning and reteach methods work best. After 4 years in the school system, I’ve learned that children excel through repetition of a lesson. This tried and true reinforcement method has been proven by my over average graduation rates, high scores in math and reading as well as dedication to help students exceed both inside and outside the classroom.
I have been teaching in East Harlem for four years. I have taught second grade for two years, and it is now my second year teaching first grade. I have taught specifically in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) setting, which means there is a general education and special education teacher within the classroom. I love working with students in grades K-6 and watching them grow as learners and individuals. I have also been a camp counselor for many years. I love working with students no matter the place!
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Educational Services. I recently graduated from Touro College with my Master's Degree in Education and Special Education Grades 1-6.
