Hi, I’m Mina! In 2024, I graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Mandarin. I’m currently pursuing a graduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) as a pre-dental student. I offer tutoring in Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Pre-Calculus), SAT Math, and basic Korean (e.g. hangul, common vocabulary, and conversational practice).
Growing up, I relied heavily on private tutoring—especially in Math and Mandarin—which helped me build strong academic foundations and inspired me to become a tutor myself. I began tutoring in high school, where I earned a Foundations of Tutoring certificate through Crossroads of Learning and worked closely with middle and elementary school students in Math and Reading. Later, I taught at a private prep academy in South Korea, helping students strengthen their skills in Algebra I, Pre-Calculus, and SAT prep (Reading, Writing, and Math) in both English and Korean.
I’ve always enjoyed Math and languages. I earned a Gold Certificate in the UK Junior Mathematical Challenge and competed internationally in Mathcounts. I scored an 800 on both the SAT Math section and the Math Level 2 Subject Test, placing in 99th percentile both nationally representative sample and SAT user group. I was also recently placed 95th percentile in the Quantitative Reasoning section for the Dental Admission Test. In college, I earned A’s in Calculus and Mandarin courses at NYU.
As someone who understands the challenges of learning, I believe that asking for help is never a weakness—it’s a courageous first step. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel confident, heard, and motivated to grow.
