I am an Assistant Professor of Finance with a Ph.D. in Finance, a Master’s degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from UCLA. My academic background combines rigorous quantitative training with practical applications in finance and economics, which allows me to explain complex material in a clear and intuitive way.

I have over eight years of experience teaching and tutoring students ranging from high school to MBA and graduate levels. I have taught finance courses at the university level and previously worked as a tutor at Vanderbilt, where I supported students in calculus, economics, and econometrics. I have worked with a wide range of students, including those at top universities, and I focus on helping them build strong conceptual foundations before moving to more advanced problem-solving. My approach emphasizes clarity, structure, and developing independent thinking skills.

I also have extensive experience with standardized test preparation and quantitative training. I scored 800 on SAT Math and 169 on GRE Quantitative, and I help students develop efficient strategies for solving problems under time constraints. My tutoring style is patient, structured, and tailored to each student’s goals. I aim not only to improve performance in the short term, but also to build lasting confidence and analytical ability.

Helpful and knowledgeable and patient tutor

Jasper is very motivating, explains everything in detail, and taught me everything he could relevant to finance. He helped me out with Intermediate Financial Analysis and he knows that subject really well. His explanations are so effective that it clears all of the confusion that I have remained in my head and that helps me see the better picture of the topic I discuss with him. And he is so determined that he keeps on explaining until I completely understand.
