Hello, I'm Sebastian. I started playing piano and taking lessons at the age of 4 and quickly realized that it was my passion. In high school I participated in multiple piano competitions, most notably winning First Place Honors in the Crescendo International Piano Competition (gaining the opportunity to play in Carnegie Hall) and Honorable Mention in the Bradshaw and Buono Piano Competition. Although I am classically trained, I also have extensive experience performing and accompanying/playing with other musicians. As your instructor, I will ensure that you make significant progress by giving you a solid understanding of music theory, providing benchmarks and goals for each week, and teaching you how to make the most of your practice sessions at home so you can come to each lesson ready to improve.

Currently I am an MS3 student enrolled at the CUNY School of Medicine, so in addition to my music expertise I also offer tutoring in various subjects. Through the Dual Enrollment Humanities program in my high school, I entered college with a great background in English/History and as a strong writer. In addition to these subjects I can tutor various science subjects as well due to my rigorous science background through my current enrollment in the Sophie Davis 7 year BS/MD program.

Strong liberal arts background from HS (Dual Enrollment Humanities program through Seton Hall University)
Tutored at Harlem Village Academies, employed by EDCO Forever Harlem Inc. as well as Serious Fun Inc.
5+ years of teaching experience
1st Place Honors in the Crescendo International Competition
Honorable Mention in the Bradshaw & Buono International Competition

Patient, kind and highly knowledgeable piano teacher

My 10-year-old son loves working with Sebastian! My son has ADHD and often has trouble focusing, but Sebastian's kindness and good humor really helped him stay on track. Highly recommend Sebastian to anyone looking to study piano.
