I was a TA for qualitative research methods this past semester at Columbia for incoming first years in the masters program, where I helped students better understand the material. I studied biology throughout undergrad, but have found new interests in biostatistics and data analysis at Columbia. At my time at Mailman, I have learned how to use SAS and R to manipulate data to run regression analyses and assess trends. To learn these skills, I relied on my peers and TA’s for help and cannot thank them enough for their patience and willingness to help me understand and learn. That is what I hope to do as a tutor here, and help students understand topics they are struggling with.
