I teach math in an independent school in NYC, and have also worked in math ed-tech. Prior to that, I was a college professor at the University of Rochester. I love explaining things clearly and seeing understanding blossom in a student.

To help a student understand something, the key is to make it concrete, relatable, and intuitive. If the explanation sounds clever, then it's no good.

My undergraduate degree was in mathematics and philosophy at Oxford University. I use machine learning (linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics) in my research.

By the way, I seem to receive a lot of requests for Prolog tutoring. I guess somehow my profile shows up when people search for that? Although I did learn a little bit of Prolog many years ago, I don't know it nearly well enough to be able to tutor anyone in it. So, I regret that I have to turn down any requests for Prolog tutoring. Sorry about that.
