Whether you are looking for targeted help within a specific MCAT testing category or you are looking for help on the test overall, Jacob is exactly who you are looking for to help you improve your score. Frustrated by my initial MCAT score after having studied very rigorously and not knowing where to make improvements, I started sessions with Jacob and can confidently say that our time together was the most effective study decision I made. For each session, Jacob had specific ideas for topics we could review / learn for the first time (with incredibly helpful images / drawings to walk through), or passages we could work through together so I could figure out which methods to use / what components to pay attention to, or I could ask about a different topic I had questions over (and he was always prepared for questions in any content area at any time). He is not only incredibly intelligent, but he is also a phenomenal teacher; he could adapt his explanations and teaching techniques to fit my specific learning style, and he was readily prepared to answer any questions I had. I genuinely looked forward to all of our sessions together because our sessions were so learning oriented and his teaching style was so effective that I left each meeting knowing so much more than I had before. He also had a study schedule that I used which helped me figure out how to manage my additional study time and he helped me adapt the schedule to my specific needs and timing constraints. He listens to feedback to ensure that you are getting exactly the help that you need. I highly, highly recommend working with Jacob if you are looking to improve your MCAT score.

Excellent tutor
Very personalized and genuinely takes the time to understand his students. He not only focuses on what strategies to use, but also points out what part of the strategy doesn’t work and how to directly address it. He then brainstorms individualized processes with real-time practice passages. Overall a wonderful tutor and has an unbelievable way of teaching MCAT strategies in different perspectives until the student shows a score increase.

Fantastic tutor
We loved Jacob as our neuroscience tutor. My 11th grader met with him weekly over the course of the semester and Jacob discussed the topics in that week's textbook chapter, making sure that my student understood the core concepts, had a way to connect it to other concepts previously covered, and generally provided accountability, as well as constructive feedback on lab reports. He was fantastic at incorporating my child's questions and observations into the conversation so it didn't feel as one-sided as it can with some tutors. Jacob was always prepared, professional, and had very infectious energy that made it easy to persist with what can be a pretty dense subject. Due to Jacob, this was my child's favorite time of the semester!

One of the best tutors I've ever had!
There are only good things to say about Jacob–he's an amazing teacher and makes complicated topics super easy to understand. I really appreciated how he opened every session by asking if I had anything I wanted to go over specifically, and even if I didn't, he would always have material ready. He's very knowledgeable–I would ask him a lot of questions (ranging from CARS, Bio/Biochem, Chem, etc.) and he always had a good answer. But what I loved the most about working with Jacob was that he genuinely wants you to succeed! It's hard to find a tutor like Jacob– all around a great tutor and person.

Jacob is one of the best tutors I have ever encountered! He is super patient with your needs and will explain a concept in a multitude of ways if you don't understand it the first time. He especially helped me in my Bio/Biochem section, teaching me his full-proof strategy. Definitely recommend using his services. You won't regret it!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor
Jacob is very personable and helpful regarding concepts and how to approach MCAT questions! He also always follows up after each session with a summary of what we went over and provides some additional practice options. Jacob is also nice enough to answer questions I have while reviewing in my own outside of our sessions which is great. Would definitely recommend him to someone else looking for a tutor!

Patient and understanding
I liked that he walks you through on an outline guide to focus on when trying to decipher passage and that he prepares passages for students. I wish there were more resources offered for practice as like "homework" assignments that can be worked on for the next lessons.
