Great tutor with extensive experience and interactive teaching style
I'm a mid-level beginner to chess and have enjoyed my weekly tutoring sessions with Lawrence. We settled on a system of interactive teaching which involved critiques and suggestions from games that I played between sessions. Importantly, we recording the lessons for my later review. Lawerence plays chess at a far higher level than me, so his concepts were sometimes a challenge to understand, but he was always patient with my questions. I highly recommend him to anyone at my level of play and especially for more advanced players. I learned many valuable positional strategies and general techniques from him. He is pleasant to work with and a superb chess player.

Chess Lesson
The first lesson I had with Lawrence ran a bit short, but he very graciously provided a complimentary 30 min follow up lesson which actually ran a bit over. During the first lesson he provided an overview of why the Caro kann would be a better defense as black as opposed to the Scandinavian. During the follow up complimentary lesson he went over some past games that I played which was super helpful and taught me a lot! I definitely recommend him.
