I received my PhD in physics from New York University, specializing in condensed matter theory.

At NYU and Columbia University, I've had the privilege of instructing both graduate and undergraduate students in a variety of subjects, including Quantum Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, Electricity and Magnetism, and General Physics.

In addition to physics, I've been providing tutoring assistance in Calculus, Ordinary Differential Equations (ODE), Partial Differential Equations (PDE), Linear Algebra,Probability, and Statistics.

Yet, teaching for me is more than just a profession—it's a profound passion. There's an indescribable joy in witnessing the "aha" moments as students conquer challenging problems and grapple with complex concepts. To me, there's no greater satisfaction than knowing that I've played a part in empowering students to not only comprehend the material but also to excel academically, laying the groundwork for their future success in the ever-evolving landscape of science and mathematics.

Very Knowledgeable

Matt is very knowledgeable. I needed help with quantum computing and he explained the concepts clearly and used lots of good examples. I would highly recommend Matt!

Calc ll

I hired Matt for my DD who needed to take a Calc ll summer class as a requirement for her MechE degree. This is a full semester course squeezed into five weeks and as you can imagine it’s intense. Matt has been working with my daughter for a couple of weeks now and he has been a game-changer for her! Her latest grades a 94 and a 100! He has given her that boost and confidence she needed. We will continue to work with him for this class and if she should need help during her sophomore year we know who to contact.

Expert Physics Tutor

Matt taught me electricity and magnetism, and his method was very effective and precise. We would go over the concepts thoroughly, identify the types of problems and equations needed, and come up with examples similar to my course. Since we would go over the concepts directly, I was able to apply the same approach on every exam without any confusion or doubts. I really appreciated how he made physics seem so simple and broken down into easy steps. Highly recommend!

Amazing Differential Equations Tutor

Matt tutored me in Differential Equations last semester and I could tell he wanted me to understand the material. He was very patient and would slow down when something wasn't making sense until it did. I received an A in the class and couldn't have done it without him. If you are looking for a math tutor, I can't recommend him enough!

Thorough and explains concepts well

Matt is good at explaining concepts in simpler terms to help me apply the concepts to more complex problems. He is willing to write out every step of a calculation to explain a problem. I learned a lot in particular about complex numbers and quantum energy levels.

Explains concepts very well

Matt taught my son more practical methods on how to solve polynomial equations. He is now better able to understand the concepts and he says that Matt was able to draw out his knowledge that was locked in his ADHD brain and reinforce what he already knew.

Very understandable tutor

Matt is a amazing tutor. Really knows physics and helped me make sure I was getting the problems right and showed me shortcuts. He made sure that I understood what the problems were asking. Overall a very helpful tutor.

Effective and knowledgeable tutor

Matt was very knowledgeable about quantum physics and helped me prepare for my college midterm. He explained concepts that I was not able to get clarity on from lecture notes and homework. He was very effective.
