Qualifications and Experience:

I was ranked as a 99.77th percentile instructor (Top 40) of 17,575 tutors on Wyzant, with six years of experience teaching MCAT. I spent three years as a Human Biology TA, tutored privately in New Haven, CT, and have multiple publications in well-known journals regarding innate immunity regulation, antiviral response in epithelium, and mental health in specific disease populations. Finally, I have spent >6500 hours teaching the MCAT, with >1400 individual five-star ratings.

Why Work With Me:

First, this is my true passion -- it brings me joy to help my students overcome perceived barriers to success and succeed on their MCAT. Students who have adopted advised approaches have averaged a 515, and over half have obtained 1+ perfect subsection score. I have time-proven methods to help you do the same IF you're willing to invest the work.

How Tutoring With Arielle Works:

Meeting 1 - Review your MCAT history (if applicable), identify adaptations, and make a comprehensive game plan. You will have a clear daily, weekly, and monthly game plan by the end of this first chat!

Meeting 2 - Create effective CARS habits ASAP -- this is often the slowest to improve (some exceptions). At any point in your prep, we can have second, third, fourth, and more CARS meetings to level up your approach.

Meetings 3+ - Turn content weaknesses into strengths!

Subsequent Meetings - Amplify science passage comprehension, data interpretation, process-of-elimination skills, and beyond.

Last Meeting - Discuss test day and get hyped to see your hard work pay off!
(Note: Meeting progression will vary based on individual needs.)

Biology

I will earn my Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2019. I also taught Biology and Human Biology to undergraduates at San Francisco State University for over two years. I currently am also a tutor for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), where a deep understanding of biological processes is paramount to success. I often work with students to build schedules tailored to their specific needs, and work through problem sets to gauge their strengths and weaknesses. I'm also happy to prepare lessons on any subject that you might find particularly challenging. Whether you're in college, graduate school or even high school, it always brings me great joy to see my students succeed, and I'm excited to participate in your success in Biology!

College Counseling

Before applying to medical school, I successfully conquered undergraduate admissions, transfer admissions, and graduate school admissions - every time securing an offer for admission to my top choice program on my first round of applications. I can help YOU craft your application into a coherent, compelling story. If you’re in the early stages of thinking about medical school (or another graduate or undergraduate program), I will be your personalized coach to help you constructively approach the years leading up to medical school admissions (or any other program) in order to maximize your application cycle when that exciting time comes. I love seeing my students succeed and I can’t wait to participate in your academic success!!

Patient, Awesome, and Extremely Knowledgeable

Arielle took me from scoring in the 50th percentile to the 97th percentile on the MCAT psych/soc section. She was able to help me find my weak points and change my perspective on test taking for this part of the exam. She is extremely knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. I could not ask for a better tutor!

Compassionate, knowledgeable, and invested tutor.

Working with Arielle was one of the best decisions I made while preparing for the MCAT. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at breaking down complex topics, but she also goes above and beyond in supporting her students emotionally and mentally. From the very beginning, she made me feel heard and understood. I came into the process feeling overwhelmed and unsure of myself, but she helped me recognize my strengths and build up my confidence week by week. She didn't just give me a study plan—she helped me craft one that actually worked for me, adapting it as we went to fit my learning style, schedule, and energy levels. What stood out most was how compassionate and encouraging she was. She created a space where I could ask questions without feeling judged, talk openly about my struggles, and celebrate small wins along the way. Her support made a huge difference in my mindset, and I genuinely believe that the confidence she helped me build was just as valuable as the academic prep. I can't recommend her enough to anyone preparing for the MCAT—especially if you're feeling stuck or doubting yourself. She’s more than a tutor—she’s a coach, a cheerleader, and someone who truly cares.

She is the best! Makes study schedules tailored to each student in order for them to succeed.

I've learned more in a month with Arielle (4 sessions) than I had for the 3.5 months I spent studying the first time around. She's made studying fun for me again

I highly recommend Arielle to any premed looking for MCAT support!

I really mean it when I say I don't think I could have conquered the MCAT without Arielle--or at least, it would have taken much longer and been that much more painful! I had postponed my MCAT multiple times and even worked with another tutor (prior to finding Arielle); I came out of those experiences feeling discouraged and doubtful of myself. From our very first lesson, Arielle focused on building my confidence, which is really paramount when tackling this exam. We outlined a weekly schedule--which included designated days off--and made study checklists, both of which helped keep me accountable and motivated. Her guidance and mastery of the material across all four subjects was a constant source of comfort during this very stressful process. I worked full-time while studying and Arielle helped build a manageable study schedule to complement my work one. She has a great attitude and a lovely personality, and I truly looked forward to our weekly sessions. In six months, my score increased by 15 points from the initial practice exam I took under Arielle's guidance. I have been accepted to two medical schools so far--thanks to Arielle and her constant cheering me on!

12-Point Score Increase and Unmatched Support

I cannot express enough gratitude for Arielle and the incredible support she provided me throughout my MCAT journey. From the very beginning, she was a constant source of positivity and encouragement, guiding me through every step of my prep with confidence and expertise. Her time-proven strategies and insightful feedback not only helped me excel on my MCAT but also gave me the assurance I needed to know I could succeed. Arielle's guidance didn’t stop there. She helped me craft a personal statement that truly captured my story and provided invaluable support during the medical school application process. Thanks to her, my MCAT score improved by 12 points from my initial diagnostic test, a result I never would have imagined possible. Her mastery of content, strategy, and unwavering support is worth every penny, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t have been able to do this without her. Arielle is more than just a tutor – she’s a mentor and a vital part of my journey to medical school. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

More than just a tutor she is invested in your journey and is your number one fan!

I started my journey with Arielle at the very beginning and it was the best thing I ever did. She took me scoring really low to a competitive score for schools and helped me with content in all subjects and test taking skills. She simplifies the content to where it feels easy learning complicated material and always takes the time to try different avenues to make sure you truly understand the content. She is also invested in your wellbeing. She even helped me recognize unhealthy study habits and mindsets that led me to burnout quickly and helped guide me through it which I can now take with me in my next chapter. She is also really knowledgeable on the entire application process and would help breakdown my timeline for when I should do all the things needed including the MCAT in order to apply. She even helped me brainstorm ideas with my personal statement. Looking back I do not think I would be where I am at without her guidance and knowledge. She took me from being terrified of the MCAT to being confident in taking the MCAT!

13 point increase on the MCAT!!

The MCAT is hard and tedious and I was dreading having to retake it (after I tried the first time using a Kaplan course and did not do well) but Arielle made reading the books, planning my tasks, and tutoring genuinely enjoyable. I started working with her about 7 months before I took my last MCAT and from the first tutoring session I knew how valuable learning from her would be. She made an individualized schedule for me for each day, week, and month and while she helped keep me on track, she also stressed the importance of listening to yourself when your body tells you to take a break (which I learned is crucial for this process). She is incredibly patient, understanding, and encouraging, and genuinely wants to see you succeed. I am now completing medical school applications and she is helping me with my personal statement and navigating me through this process as well. If you want a tutor that is going to put in the extensive work to ensure your success, motivate and encourage you when you are feeling uncertain, and help give you the confidence and knowledge you need to do well on the MCAT, she is your girl. Worth every single penny!!
