I grew up in NYC, went to Collegiate and then Stuyvesant. Trained to be a physician-scientist, then decided to do something a bit different and went to Wall Street and worked with many biotechnology companies, investing in some of them. I grew up in NYC, went to Collegiate and then Stuyvesant. Trained to be a physician-scientist, then decided to do something a bit different and went to Wall Street and worked with many biotechnology companies, investing in some of them. A few years ago I moved to the corporate side, drawn in by my desire to be part of an energetic team working together to bring innovative and much-needed therapies to the market.

In high school I helped fellow students with standardized test/SAT preparation and gained experience with the Princeton Review. In college I led small-group review sessions for students taking organic chemistry. I was a regular weekly tutor for a number of high school and college students during my years in medical/graduate school at Columbia, and also led laboratory sections.

I love tutoring because it's a great feeling personally to work one-on-one with students and successfully empower them in grasping concepts, understanding how to attack problems, and applying their reasoning abilities.

I have a B.A., Chemistry and Asian Studies, Dartmouth College and a Ph.D., Chemistry, Columbia University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. I also have an M.D., Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. I completed these degrees under the NIH-sponsored Medical Scientist Training Program (8 years).

Organic Chemistry

I completed two separate research projects during my graduate work, one in the area of molecular recognition, and the other in the area of medicinal chemistry. Each of these generated several peer-reviewed journal articles. I am an inventor on patents for a cancer drug which I worked on while in graduate school.
