I grew up in NYC, went to Collegiate and then Stuyvesant. Trained to be a physician-scientist, then decided to do something a bit different and went to Wall Street and worked with many biotechnology companies, investing in some of them. A few years ago I moved to the corporate side, drawn in by my desire to be part of an energetic team working together to bring innovative and much-needed therapies to the market.
In high school I helped fellow students with standardized test/SAT preparation and gained experience with the Princeton Review. In college I led small-group review sessions for students taking organic chemistry. I was a regular weekly tutor for a number of high school and college students during my years in medical/graduate school at Columbia, and also led laboratory sections.
I love tutoring because it's a great feeling personally to work one-on-one with students and successfully empower them in grasping concepts, understanding how to attack problems, and applying their reasoning abilities.
I have a B.A., Chemistry and Asian Studies, Dartmouth College and a Ph.D., Chemistry, Columbia University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. I also have an M.D., Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. I completed these degrees under the NIH-sponsored Medical Scientist Training Program (8 years).
