Welcome to my page! I've been a guitar instructor for about 12 years. I started as a private guitar instructor in the surrounding Oklahoma City metro area and spent most of my career there. I have taught students of all ages from beginner to advanced, in many different styles and genres of music. I meet my students where they are at and provide as much of a challenge as seek.

I also have a very comprehensive knowledge and ability to operationalize music theory applications within the popular songs a student is learning. I have found this to be a great tool for students who have the desire to venture into songwriting, and want to go deeper into decoding the musical language of their favorite songs and artists. By teaching them the songs that they love, I have seen students learn to draw on the ideas and musical tendencies that inspire them to develop their own skills and identity as musicians and even songwriters.

As a guitar instructor for over a decade in Oklahoma City and more recently in New York, I have honed my teaching abilities and learned how to more effectively share my comprehensive knowledge and application of music theory within the curriculum. But I also believe what makes me a great guitar instructor is my ability to adapt to a particular student's needs and talents. I believe to be a good teacher, that you must try to gain insight into what inspired a student to want to pick up the guitar in the first place, and never lose sight of that.
