Hi! I’m Farhan — a public health researcher, graduate student at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, and an experienced tutor with over 10+ years of teaching students across Regents, SAT/ACT, and AP exam subjects.
I’ve taken many of these exams myself and have worked with students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. That combination allows me to break down complex material into clear, understandable steps and tailor my approach to each student’s learning style.
Outside of tutoring, I work in public health research, where I focus on mental health, community health worker programs, and health equity initiatives across New York City. These roles require strong communication, data analysis, and teaching skills — all of which directly strengthen my tutoring approach.
My academic background includes a degree in Biology and Epidemiology, which includes extensive coursework in health sciences, statistics, and research methods. This foundation allows me to support students in both STEM and social science subjects, while helping them build real understanding rather than memorizing facts.
I see myself as a tutor, not just a teacher. I don’t simply go through content — I help students learn how to learn. I share effective study strategies, test-taking techniques, and ways to connect ideas across subjects so that students can develop confidence and long-term academic skills.
If you’re looking for someone patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in your success, I’d be happy to work with you.
